Our Mission

Angels of Light assists children and families with a life threatening illness living in the Hudson Valley or whose life has been suddenly altered by an accident or loss of life

The idea for Angels of Light was created over 15 years ago by Lori and George Decker, with the simple mission, that year, to help a family in need by providing Holiday gifts for their child with a life-threatening illness. Every family can fall on hard times, but it is especially difficult for families fighting for a loved one’s life.

With the help of their family the number of families grew yearly, and Angles of Light became a 501© 3 in 2016. Since Angels of Light first began they have delivered over 5,000 gifts to over 1,000 children living in the Hudson Valley

We are happy to announce that Angels of Light's initial mission, to assist children and families with a life-threatening illness living in the Hudson Valley, expanded this year to helping our children and families with not only our Holiday Giving program, but also year-round medical bills, utilities, food, gas and much more.

Testimonial from one of our moms: "Angels here on earth. They have touched our hearts and shown us so much love. When my son was diagnosed with a brain tumor, his angels, Angels of Light, came to lift his spirits during a very difficult time. We will be forever grateful for the love and generosity they have shown us and continue to show us through friendship. Truly an amazing organization." -Heidi Foyston Nykaza

Your donation supports families basic necessities of life such as medical bills, utilities, food, gas, lodging and more. Our Holiday Giving program purchases gifts during the holiday season for Christmas, Hanukkah and any other holiday celebrated.

We have an amazing Board of Directors and dedicated volunteers, who serve along with our business partners, to make sure our mission is successful every year.
